Whats the best thing to use to stop a chair from squeaking?
Question:Would dw-40 work?
The chair that u put in your livingroom and u lean back but makes too much noise.
Answers:
WD-40 will work. However, it is a spray and will make your entire living room smell like a garage. WD-40 is an aerosol grease. Since WD-40 is a grease, it will not penetrate the surface of the metal you are spraying.
3-in-1 oil will work better. One drop on each joint, and doesn't have the odor that WD-40 has because it is an oil. Oils also have better penetration power than grease. 3-in-1 will actually penetrate into the metal surface, which means you will not need to oil your chair as often.
Depending on your chair, you may need to go buy a dispenser with an extending spout to reach the parts that are squeaking.

You can use alittle Pam veg. spray, will not stain like oil.
A recliner maybe? I dont think dw 40 will work but I bet if you get some WD-40 then that might work but the ABSOLUTE BEST way to get it to stop squeaking is to not sit on it!!
stop sitting on it....... ..
