What color should i paint my walls!?

Question:Well im going to paint my room. It is currently white but i want to change it to the walls dark coral pink and the trims around the window brown im not sure though i dont like the lavender and all those soft colors i also want my room to look classy my furniture is going to be black can you give advice on what color the room could be!!!

Answers:
If your going with black furniture then brown trim is a diffident NO! Black and Brown usually don't go well together when it goes to room decor. The pink would look good with black trim though then the room would be balanced.

try a dark blue, or a denim color, it always looks nice
If you want to go with the dark coral pink, then I would say leave the trim around the windows white. It will make them stand out more and the room will feel more "fresh" and clean. Black furniture will look good against colored walls and then you can even have black picture frames or wall decorations. Stay away from black curtains though. Either go with white or another color that compliments the pink or will pop against it such as green or blue. If that is the color you want then go with it. For the classy look just try to keep the decorations simple. That will help it to look clean and classy.
have fun!

In some tropical countries green is associated with danger.
Orange is a combination of yellow and red. Orange is considered a warm color like red, but to a lesser extent; orange expresses energy. It has luminous qualities and has been used for attention-getting purposes, such as on caution signs.

Orange brings up memories of fall leaves, pumpkins and Halloween. It symbolizes balance, warmth, enthusiasm, vibrance, flamboyancy, and is demanding of attention.

Purple represents royalty, spirituality, nobility, ceremony, mystery, transformation, wisdom, enlightenment, cruelty, arrogance, mourning. Purple is considered an exotic color.

Purple dye was made from the mucous gland of a snail. It required thousands of snails to yield 1 gram of dye causing it to be a color only nobles could afford. Today purple is a trendy color targeting creative types.

Red is the color that we pay the most attention to. It is the warmest and most energic color in the spectrum.

We associate red with love, valentines, danger, desire, speed, strength, violence, anger, emergency exit signs, stop signs and blood.

Red can evoke a fight-or-flight response, raise blood pressure and make the heart beat faster.

But really if you want something hot and sexy, black and gold will really make it haute!
If your furniture is black i would not recommend brown trim. I love the color combination of coral and brown but I just don't think it would look good with your furniture. what about picking a darker or little shade of the coral pink and using that for the trim?
I would prefer a medium charcoal grey with darker trim rather than that coral pink and brown you mentioned. You will not only get tired of it quickly but will be very limited to your color selection.

Instead imagine coral tiger lilies in a film noir.

...a classy atmosphere with white, black, charcoal grey and deep coral accents, but not coral walls. You could then have accents with real white corals, coral embroidered pillows, and black framed b/w photos along with your black, sleek furniture.
That sounds nice, try looking at Benjamin Moore colours;
smoked salmon cc-154
or
bed and breakfast cc-184
(for the walls)

and for the trim;

flagstone cc-516
or
davenport tan HC-76

this link shows really nice wall decals, so if your walls were coral and your trim was brown I would look at something like this in the brown also, and your black furniture will be fine too.
...of course black and brown go together.
I was playing around with Sherwin Williams' Color Visualizer, and I agree with the others who said not to do brown trim with black furniture. SW suggests a creamy color called "Navajo White" to go with its "Quite Coral," and that's the combo that I would suggest.
paint your main wall a dark color like red or burgundy and the others a mocha color. trim can be the red or burgundy. or what a deep blue and the others could be a lighter color of something that goes with the deep blue. the wall that has the dark color put your bed there or dresser . good luck
Black usually goes with mauve or shades of grey the best. Sometimes pale yellow. But it depends on how large your room is. The reason most things are painted white and then you just add the accent colors are because white makes the room look big. You don't want to make your room so small looking that it will make you depressed just being in there. Sticking to white and pale colors gives a person a lighter attitude. Change the curtain color or style or the sheets, pillow cases and bedspread and even add color on your storage bins but stay away from a lot of black. It would be better to have a few pieces of dark wood furniture instead.
My bedroom is painted a color called ecru (light khaki color) My girls' bedroom is painted a beachy teal color (can't remember the name) It looks awesome even though one of my girls wanted to do it neon green.

I don't like the idea of coral pink with brown trim and black furniture. I would opt for mocha walls, white trim, and the black furniture and use the pink on the bedspread and curtains. Too much pink makes me ill. Besides if you are under the age of 25 your tastes will change about 100 times between now and then and the mocha color will last longer and mature with you.
i would do a red and a white trim
