What type of lighting fixture is used with a surface mount omedicine cabinet?

Question:The cab is 15" wide, 25" high and 5" deep over a pedestal sink. The electrical box for the fixture is about 50" above the sink. Thanks.

With surface mount cabinets you want a lighting fixture that has an equivalent depth as the cabinet. They make these specifically to go with surface mount cabinets. You can get them at Home Depot or equivalent large home/hardware store, if you're in the USA.

If you fall in love with a lighting fixture that doesn't have a box to match the depth of your cabinet, you could build one... or you could choose a fixture that holds the lights far enough out from the wall that they light the mirror enough.
