Is there a way to remove wallpaper that has already been painted over?

Question:My bf and I bought a house where the "remodeling" that was done, is crap! She tiled over laminate counter tops, painted over borders and bits of wallpaper, laid new vinyl floor over the old vinyl floor. The painted wallpaper is my biggest concern though, I don't want to put MORE paint over it without trying to fix the problem so I can do it right. HELP!

Good Question... do not paint over.. its gona take some sweat but, will be worth it to just get rid of the wall paper and it will look much nicer. get you a metal scraper and oh the best trick ever for removing wall paper is to put fabric softner and water in a squirt bottle squirt the ppr ... let it soak... it will peal off soooooo easy... and the softner doesnt stain...seems like it would since it is blue but, it doesnt... i have done several entire rooms like this. it works!

You can rent a steamer at most home improvment stores.
You put the steamer on sections of the wallpaper and the steam melts the glue.
Then you just peel the paper away...
Good Luck...
Paper Tiger and Dif.
You'll be done in no time!
