Can you paint masonry paint over hammerite?

Question:any advice would be welcome thanks all

Answers:
Most masonry paints are water based, so if you paint it, it will rub off very easily and flake very quickly. You could try giving it a good sand to key it up (you need to get rid of the glossy surface of the hammerite) you could try using oil based undercoat and then try the masonry paint. hope that helps.
