Do you think the homes in TV organizing shows are really that messy?

I actually know people who live like that. One friend has 5 children and her house looks like a toy bomb went off in every room all of the time. I think some people are just slobs.
You have obviously never lived with anyone with OCD. My parents house is like that all over all the time, and has been for as long as I can remember.
My grandmother, who will will be turning 70, this year, has a house so full of crap and collectibles, that it's to the point that you can't find anything.
They're both OCD, and can't help themselves whe it comes to things they like. They collect things to the point of being ridiculous, but they can't help it. There are many people out there like this. It is usually because at one time or another, they were lacking something in their lives, and now they recompensate for it.
It's amazing, but people really do live that way. I've been a real estate agent for 7 years and it never ceases to amaze me how some people live. I know I feel like my life is chaotic if my house is dirty or unorganized, but to other people it's normal. I'd be utterly humiliated to have a camera crew come in my house if it looked like that.
