Question:The ones that need to be shut in so they don't hurt others (and themselves)? Any idea what kind of padding and where I can find some?

Back in the 60s I had a wall with carpeting on it. It was so cool back then, but now when I think about it, very bad choice! You could try making fabric or vinyl covered padded panels to attach to your walls. I've seen them do this type of thing on Trading Spaces. (It was probably a Hilde room, LOL!)
