Not enough info. What kind of project do you have? Inside or out? In some instances wood can be cheaper ( depending on what kind you want). If you are building something like steps to a porch... then wood would be the best choice.
really not equal comparisons- need more info- it depends on the use and the thickness required versus the type of wood.
