How much does it normally cost to take up carpet and install flooring in 3 bedrooms and 2 baths?

Question:I'm fixing to have a flooring retailer take up the carpet in the living room,bedroom,master bed,master bath and bath.To anyone who has had this done tell me how much you paid for it.I know you they have to measure but I'm still curious as to how much it could be.

It all depends on what flooring you are going to be putting down in those spaces ... are you going to recarpet, tile, put down hardwood or a laminate? and where you are located in the country ... some more details would be helpful.

I recently had 1100 sq feet of carpet pulled out and replaced with hardwood floors and with materials and labor it cost me $8500 ... (I am in Boston, Ma by the way) ...
