W hat color should paint my bedroom/nursery (boy) if my carpet is navy blue and the room is 12x15?

Question:I want something new and welcoming but not too "babyish" i still have to sleep and live in it

Answers:
I would go with a light color to offset the navy carpet. Try something neutral like a light beige or chocolate color. Something else that is nice is painting one wall and relatively bold color and the other walls a light color.

There are many options. Just have fun with it. To make it more "babyish", try adding wall hangings that can be changed easily as baby grows.

Good luck.

white or baby blue!
White or a pastel shade of blue and maybe you could take advantage of a nice border.
You have to live in it too? Hmmm. I actually like yellow with white trim and the navy blue carpet. I think its bright and cheery.

Good luck.
If the room is 12x15: white or grey
If it was 13x17 or 15 by >17 I would say eggshell mauve or periwinkle.
Any room wherein the square area is a prime, you have to go with tertiary shades of green.
Any larger than 200square feet and it would have to be a pattern, ducks or bunnies.
I beleive in a lot of contrast and color for children, it keeps things interesting, i would like to see a sky blue, cream, or even some shade of yellow that it agreeable with your carpet. you may also consider going with more than one color by adding a wainscot affect using borders and paint, or also by simply adding a border wiht some navy blue in it to the top of your walls to blend whatever color you choose in with the carpet.
well, first I have to suggest you wait till the baby is born because "remodeling and painting" or doing anything that would leave "fumes" or chemical smells (even new furniture) while you're pregnant is not healthy for you and the baby.

second, I would say something like this ... would be nice ...

What about a nice crisp white? You can buy a gallon of flat white paint and one of white semi-gloss and do 24" vertical stripes around the room. It is very subtle, yet stunning. It will look great with the navy carpet- perhaps a nautical theme?
A very light Blue, just a hint. Your Carpet will reflect up on the walls..
Oh this would require some effort but my sister-in-law did navy and white stripes. She did a nautical theme. She did some accessories(lamp) throw rug in Red. She found an old fashioned life saver and then put his name on it in Red
maybe you could do a lite but not too lite blue, but dont do a dark room as it would make the room feel and look smaller.

White. That way as the child ages you can change the theme easiy with decor.

Maybe a nautical theme for now?
Navy carpet, white walls and red/blue accents.
Colors:
baby blue
mint green
yellow
white or ivory
Patterns:
use the bedding you have picked to select the curtain colors and wall color. Paint one or two colors from the bedding, and
do north/south say in blue, and east/west wall in yellow.Or...
Put baby's crib and dresser on same wall if you can, and hang up his name in fabric or wood, nusery characters, etc.
on that wall.
Use one of the bedding colors for your bed. Paint stripes of the print colors behind your headboard.
good luck!
I hate to be boring, but I think a crisp white paint would be best. Blue and white curtains (stripes or plaid) would look great. Floating shelves with stuffed animals. Painted dresser, lamp shade and pictures are other ways to bring in other colors -- these can change easily as the baby gets older.
