There is a sand you can add to the paint ask the paint store.
Try adding sand to the paint. I have outside painted steps and this worked great. Good luck.
before the paint dries, sprinkle some clean white sand over the final coat of paint.
Probably the easiest way is to mix clean sand into the paint you use on the steps. The texture of the sand helps make them less slippery and isn't noticeable unless you feel the surface.
there is a paint sand that you add when getting your paint mixed or shook. get a texture that you are satisfied with.
Add mason's sand to your paint in a separate bucket and mix thoroughly then paint the mix on the step. You can either paint the whole step or tape off strips.
They sell gritty stair treads for outside steps at Home Depot or Lowe's that you can peel and stick down. We have had ours on our front steps for years now and they have gone through sun, rain and snow and are still there. They run about $7.99 per tread, so they are kind of expensive.
If using sand as suggested, be sure to use an epoxy paint. Sherwin Williams or an industrial paint supplier can come close to matching about any color. You mih look into garage floor paint which comes with other types of abrasives. It is very durable and includes an anti skid addative
