How much would it cost to put in a shower in a half bath?

Question:I am thinking of buying a home with a half bath in the basement and need to add a shower for my elderly inlaws. It is big enough to add the stall, we just need to plumb it. We are going to hire a contractor to do the job. How much can we expect to pay?

Answers:
Expect to pay somewhere around $2000 to $3000 depending on who you hire and what grade of materials you use. Picking an expensive tile or shower hardware could possibly increase your costs.

Probably about 2500 dollars, if you get a low-cost stand-up unit.
