What's the best and cheapest way to cover wall panels?
Question:I have wall panels around my home and it makes me sick. Money is an issue and I would like to know how to cover the panels or possibly paint. These things are 70's style and are just horrendous. thanks

You can paint them a nice ivory cream color. But you have to prepare them properly. There's also filler for the grooves if you have them. Go to HGTV.com or DIY.com and look up the instructions.
There's also textured or patterned patterned wallpaper you can use that's intended to cover imperfect walls. After you put it up, you paint it. But that's a desperate solution and not as cheap as paint.
PAINT!
Painting them would be my suggestion. You might want to lightly sand them prior to painting them and/or prime them. That way the final paint will adhere better.
I'd paint them too. If the grooves are wide enough paint it as a stripe.. Paint main wall a pale color and the groove/stripe a slight be darker. Hang large pictures/mirrors etc. then
You should prime them and then paint in any color you desire
the best way to do this is to get some drywall compound (less than 5 bucks for a 2 gallon bucket- in my area) and you use this to fill any imperfections in the panels. You can fill the grooves if you want to. then you can paint over the panels with kilz paint then paint over that with anything you want. another option is to just cover over the panels with that wallpaper that has a texture design then paint it also. this is the more expensive option.
