Tips for decorating my bedroom...?

Question:I want to decorate my room this weekend in a bohemian style, i have a dark brown carpet (which is quite new) and i want to paint my room in a colour that goes with the carpet.

i have taken inspiration from these two gorgeous candlesticks (red with jewels and beads) and two large wooden candlesticks (the candle is white and red with a buddah on it) and want to decorate my room around this theme,

does anybody have any tips or advice on how to go about this.

my furnature is quite a light colour, but i suppose i could always stain it or paint it.

Thanks

Base coat black then get lots of flouro colours .

The cieiling can be a sky colour or nightsky, with splaters in a pattern of uv glow paint, maybe do murals on the wall or get Uv flouro throws (ie sheets) flameproofed, lots of little lamps (noting make sure sheets are fireproof in regards candles), candles are nice.

Get uvblacklight strips to light the room so all the glowy paint gows. With things like fibreoptic lights, christmas lights. etc.

Maybe some stands to hold day sheets (ie white with murals so feels bright during day.)

Basically go down Camden in London for ideas.

One goos one would be a cave... ie carve polystyle blocks (ideally fire safe equivalents) so its rocks, colour dark blue the edge with uv glow blue and white and splatter with vaours flour colours. Then embed with bloken bits of flour acrylic...

With uv light it will look like a jewel mine.
Yes, keep the walls a comparatively llight, or pale shade of the colour you decide on, to maintain a sense of space.

If your carpet is a dark brown, then look at a neutral colourthat should suit the carpet.

If you want to add colour to the room then use pictures, light or colour the furniture. Use fabrics and soft furnishings too.

Keep things simple or it can look too busy.

Dulux have a great colour chart on their website.

Try something like 'Bitter Chocolate 4'
Since your funiture is light then why not paint your walls red? You can match the paint to the red in your candlesticks. It should look fine with the brown carpet. If you want to try out some different colors, go to www.sherwin-williams.com and click on homeowner. Then click on launch color visualizer. You can pick interior and a bedroom and try out different colors.
In addition to the usual bedroom closet design, think about under-the-bed storage, as well as under the eaves if you have attic space. But also think about smaller pieces like file cabinets, and freestanding storage.
For bedding, www.wakeupfrankie.com is the place where you'll find quite a few choices that match your theme alongside some pillows and a few pieces of furniture to match the bedset such as:

Pillows are a must have for your style, also.

I would go to a thrift store or the dollar store and purchase cheap throw blankets with beads and fringe that match the colors of your bed. Purchase more candles and install small shelves on the walls and display them there along with other pieces that accent and emphasize your inspiration of Buddha.

For your walls, I would go with a strange pattern. On opposing walls, make the base the same red as the red from the candlesticks. On the other opposing walls, paint the base the a different color from your bedset.
On one wall with the red, paint diamonds of a third color.
On the other red wall, decorate it with gold accents, like lights or even gold paint, and swirls. Use this wall to display your things on.
For the wall of a different color, hang either red (or the third color you've chosen, perhaps white from your candlesticks) beads from the ceiling down to the floor. Make sure to pin them in place. You can let them hang straight, pull them aside like a curtain, or alternate between the white and red. This wall should be used for putting up photos and awards.

On the final wall, you should put up posters, clothes, CDs, jewelry, and anything else that defines you but isn't exactly super important. String soft colored lights around the border, also.
The ceiling should be painted the white third color. String colored lights in a weaving pattern (again, pin them in place) across the ceiling.

Also for your bed, you should get a canopy and attach it to the ceiling.

I would recommend buying bean bags and selling the furniture you have now if you really want to go for the Buddha feel of down to earth.
