Question:Hi,
I'm about to get my shower room re tiled. However we have aplaster board wall thats damp and needs replacing once the tiles are removed . How much should it cost for this plaster board wall to be repalced and can I tile straight on ior do i need some kind of water poof covering . PVA or what ever it is called?
Thanks for your help

Answers:
There is no way to determine how much re-tiling will cost. Cost of materials (tile) vary to greatly.

When you have the plaster board replaced, your contractor should use a material especially made for laying tile on - my contractor used cement backer board as the underlayment for the tile. In non-tiled areas he used a mildew resistent sheet rock. It is a greenish/blue color.

I dont know I just want the points
$1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000...
There is waterproof board now that is used for the bathroom. It can be quite expensive if the are is large. If you are doing it yourself that would elp cut down the cost.

Yes you can tile right over the board without waterproofing it further. Just make sure you use the right product.
Depends on what you use..?
