Who here believes that the hardware stores like home depot , lowes , ace, true value ?

Question:and also furniture stores that sale lighting fixtures etc are the companys that waste energy by having all there lights on there lighting fixture displays , i e ceiling fans , lamps etc on all day long when all they need to do is have one of each item they sale on display and let the potintial customer turn them on so they can see for them self instead of leaving them on all day

Answers:
That depends on your region - in my area they run low lights and even have no lights on in the light area because of the lighted displays. Some businesses are good about conserving and those that aren't need to be made aware that people feel it is important that they do. IF you see a store wasting energy talk to the store manager and encourage others to as well. There more they hear concerns the more seriously they will take it.

They do not have "true value" on many items, nor do they have employees that know very much about their departments. If I know what I want, I shop first, then look at their prices. Usually, I end up in a local store for less money than they want, plus more advice on how to use what I purchased.
