Trying to make a playroom. Ideas??
Question:You've probably seen those cool playareas at the mall, the ones with mats and climbing wedges... sometimes daycares have them too. We're about to get a house, that has a large room I can use for a playroom... but those mat wedges are expensive (I looked them up - $1200 for a set) Any ideas on how I can get a fun playroom like this, something safe my son can climb all over, for a more budget friendly price? Thanks

If you know how to sew, you can make your own for way cheaper than $1200!! Go to Jo-Ann Fabrics or whatever fabric store you have by you. They sell the foam and the vinyl, heavy duty thread and needles. Heck, they may even sell the patterns to make them too! Good Luck!
go to a carpet outlet and ask for there sample squares..they can be from 1 square foot to 3 square foot samples...they will usually sell them to you dirt cheap like 50 cents to a buck..and then use them on your floor..this way you can have a very colorful floor at a cheap price.
A loft is always fun and leaves floor space underneath. If you all are handy with tools, etc can do this for the cost of the lumber and bolts required. Can find directions online for building one.
Murals on the walls are also fun, especially if your son helps paint it
Decorative milk crates for storage (be sure they are fastened together though).
Hanging porch swing or hammock chair indoors is also fun if you have ceiling joists strong enough to hold one.
Can get one of those super-sized bean bags for him to climb around on.
Video chairs are also fun for kids but they can tilt easily so again depends on how old your son is.
