Bedroom help, please?

Question:I bought a king size bed but when I went to but my bed linen, (sheets, comforters, etc,) I've discovered that there is California King and King size? I always thought there was only one King size but now I'm being told that California King has different dimensions from King size Exactly what is the difference? Also, the king size bed skirt I bought, is much too short for the bed. What size should I get in order to have the skirt rest on the floor?

Answers:
Standard measurements are:
King Bed is 76x80
California King is 72x84
So, the CK is longer but slightly less wide than a standard King. But these measurements may vary slightly depending on manufacturer. If you have a California King then you have to buy sheets specifically for CK mattresses, this includes the bed skirt. Hope this helps.
