Question:is it difficult to scrape off popcorn celings and paint them?

its not difficult, but it is very time consuming, very very time consuming. after you scrape it off, the cleaning up part is also a nightmare, then chances are the ceiling was popcorned to cover up something wrong with the ceiling, which you'll also have to fix. even if there is nothing wrong with the ceiling, you'll have to sand it, which is alot more work than you think. good luck.
