Cedar shake or fiber cement alternative?

Question:Anyone out there have photos of fiber cement siding in a "shake" look installed or experience with both? We're trying to determine whether to replace old cedar shake with fiber cement on three sides of the house. Will fiber cement be noticeably different looking? The house is a foursquare, built in 1902. The main brand we're looking at is James Hardie.
