Does anyone know about zoysia grass?

Question:

Answers:
I think it is kin to Monkey Grass..know about that? Its a tall grass
used for hedging a walkway. ..sidewalk, or otherwise. It looks cool
blows in the wind...usually it is about one foot tall, and the monkey
grass falls over slightly.the Zoysia is taller and straighter, but it
looks cool, and blows gently in the wind too. It makes the walkway,
or wherever its planted gentle and peacful looking. Needs hardly
ever to be watered. Just rain. Goes nice around tree flower beds.
too. Peace causing Plants..Now thats a thought. :>

I wa sunder the impression that it is a very expensive spicies of grass, and the major benifit of it ,is the fact it never grows beyond 3 inches tall so it never needs mowing, and it is commonly used on golf courses and only grows well in the mild/warmer climates.
zoysia grass is very strong and durable, but will totally die and look terrible in the winter months. If you can live with that, go for it.
Zoysia is generally considered a high maintenance turfgrass. Although you may not have to mow it often when you do it is best to cut it with a reel type mower or a rotary mower with a very sharp blade. Zoysia can very invasive - getting into flower beds, sidewalk cracks, planters, everywhere - a constant problem. It is, though, a beautiful turfgrass that takes a lot of foot traffic.
