I found an old metal bucket with NKP RR stamped on it. Is it worth anything, or an antique??
Question:The bucket was in the garage of a man who used to work for the railroad in the 1940's. It is galvanized and very old. I was going to use it as a planter until I saw the stamping on it. Just curious if anyone knows about it.
Answers:
It sounds like it's from the railroad he worked for, also known as the Nickle Plate Road.
Here's an oil can that sold on eBay for $46.00

I'm not sure what your bucket would bring.
And here's a site that will explain the history:

I'll give you $10 for it!!
I know that you might be able to check with the antiques roadshow and send them pics on their website . of the stamped part and the total item . send both those pics with your inquiry . here is the website www.antiquesroadshow.com. Good luck .
It's worth a little at least.
This one is selling for $62.00
It actually could be worth something. Me myself am a collector of antiques and i think it could worth something in the near future. The bucket stamped with NKP RR is from a railroad called the Nickle plate railroad that extends from st. Louis to Chicago to New York. It is no longer around becouse of a merger. I would definitley hold onto that.
