How do i get old wall paper off my walls?

Question:can anyone tell me a technique i can do here at my house to get old wall paper off the walls its regular paper. thanx for the help

Answers:
Get a bucket full of water with vinegar and washing up liquid, and a brush. Wet the old paper thouroughly. Give the water time to penetrate the paper.
Peel off, scrape off the bits that stick.
If the old paper is attached very firmly you should be able to paper on top, but if you want it all off you'll probably have to do some scratching and scraping, also some filling where you scraped off bits of plastering.
A steam cleaner will probably do the same thing. (Never tried it)

Get a 2 gallon sprayer(like the one to spray Roundup)and fill it with hot water & vinegar. Soak the wall good, wait a few minutes and scrape with a putty/spackling knife.
Wallpaper stripper, a wallpaper steamer, and lots and lots of elbow-grease (a scorer, which looks a bit like a horse's curry comb, helps too)! We had wallpaper on every bedroom wall in the condo we bought. It wasn't the 'strippable' kind of paper. It took us forever to get it off, and doing so damaged the wallboard underneath. We had to spackle and re-texture all the walls where we removed the paper. Good luck!

i think you can rent like a steam stripper that tales the wall apper off
Ughh Thats really hard work make sure you really want to do it buy a wall paaper remover spray and some type of scraping tool. Spray the wall paper and scape it off a few minutes later unless the directions say other wise. Good luck!!
Try your nearest OSH or Home Depot or Lowes for a wall paper "scorer". It is a palm-sized rotary blade device that makes very small cuts in the wallpaper, then you can use your solvent to remove the wallpaper. It is so worth it to try it out.

I used to do the soaking thing, because it sounded logical, but this way the solvent penetrates faster and there is less liquid. Also you can remove much larger pieces at a time scoring it first.
Start by scoring the walls to perforate the paper and allow the water to get to the adhesive layer. Spray a 3x3 foot area and let it sit for 15 minutes. Spray it a second time and start scraping. If you have a heat gun, you can use it to soften the glue as well. A hair dryer is not hot enough.

If the room is large, or if doing multiple rooms, rent a steamer. Makes the job go much faster.
a strong mixture of vinegar and water... apply with a rag ... let it soak in and scrape with a putty knife. Once you get it started it will become self explanatory.
