What kind of contractor builds stairs?
Question:I need a new stairway to my front door, which is about 12 feet from the ground. I want concrete, with a landing, but I am not sure who to ask for bids.
I also want steps to the third floor balcony, but again, not sure who to call. I think I just want metal with concrete steps for that, as it is not visible and really there so insure my children can exit in case of fire.

Look in the yellow pages for a general contractor. Smaller companies would probably be the most willing to take on a small job such as yours. Be sure to ask for references and call or stop by to asses their work.
A concrete contractor. You can usually get a good referral from the concrete companies. Check in the yellow pages, around here the best is Ready Mix.
look in the yellow pages. a metal fabricator would make the steel stairs... and some italian to cap them with cement.wood stairs would be a carpenter
