Any ideas on designing my new apartment inside?
Question:please help. i have good taste and artistic talent but interior designing can be tricky - anything i buy and bring home ends up out of place. and it sucks! there are no magazines or websites for 'apartment decor' - just for the big houses and mansions. i mean, there are people out there who live in small places but want them to look just as good, right? any tips, advice or websites would be great. thanks

try the do it your self website or channel, it might help. :)
Don't copy or try to recreate what is in the magazines. Find your own style. Take plenty of measurements and photos. It takes some trial and error but you'll eventually get it.
Bounce the ideas off your friends... assuming they also have good taste.
In the meantime, make certain the store has a generous return policy.
if you have promblems decotating go to store and tell a worker what kind of look you are looking for. than the worker will give you all the stuff you need to design you dream apartment
How about fixing it up to look like a funhouse like the ones at carnivals!
HEY THIS IS KRISTIN AND I ONCE WANTED TO GO INTO INTERIOR DESIGN ~ I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! AND THIS IS WHAT I TELL EVERYONE IF YOU SEE SOMETHING YOU LOVE YOU'LL FIND A PLACE FOR IT! OR TRY GETTING A PIECE OF FURNITURE YOU ADORE AND BASING THE REST OF THE DECOR ON THE PIECE WHETHER IT BE VINTAGE,SHABBY CHIC,MOD,COUNTRY CALM,ETC. AND KEEP COLLECTING!~HOPE THIS HELPS!
It depends if you are more of a wild person or a calm and peaceful person. If your a peaceful pick tan, white or light brown colors. But if you're wild than pick colors like red, and purple.
FEIN SHUA !

Designing your apartment is not easy but it is doable. You just have to draw up a plan of exactly what you want and don't want. Even if its just a mental picture. Make sure than anything that you put into your space reflect you and no-one else!
There are a couple tricks that you can use to open up your small space and make it really cosy. Avoid darker colours as they overpower and may leave your room looking even smaller than it really is.(if you do want to use darker colours you can do it on one wall or half). You can try hgtv.com so you can get some ideas and get those creative juices flowing.
Just keep in mind that you can be as funky-fresh as you want
after all its your apartment(unless you have a roommate or something?).
