organize it one really good time. Then when your done and get something out-put it back where it goes. Easy. Just put it back, all it requires is to get up walk a few steps and put it where it goes. not hard.
well when somethings on the floor or displaced put it back immediatley to the spot you want. Color coding can do some good as well.
Get in the habit of always putting stuff where it belongs. E.g., don't leave clothes laying around, either put them in a drawer/closet or in your hamper. Don't let mail and paperwork stack up: immediately file it or at least create a special "inbox" that you regularly attend to (e.g. once a week).
i have problems keeping my room clean, too. so what works for me is storage are. like baskets, shelves, bags, or hooks like for bags or jackets. i used to have all my jackets and purses on the floor.i have my shoes on shelves. it seems to be neater now. hope it helps!

If you put it away where it belongs, you will always know where it is. Assign every thing a place, put it back when done, no clutter, no mess.
What works for me and my kids is using storage pins, shoe racks, and hanging things up. And if you don't need it, or use and it is just taking up space. Throw it away.
i have a bookshelf that keeps by books and other collectibles and then beside my desk i have a little shelf thing that hold like magazines **the shelf slants and has like locker door type things**
then you could be some white**depending on color of room** baskets under your bed

If you don't need it, throw it away. go to target or walmart and get some cute containers to hold your stuff that's decorative. you can find anything that will match your decor. put your shoes away on a shoe rack when you take them off. if you have shoe boxes, take a polaroid of the shoes and put it on the box so you know what shoes are which. winter stuff needs to be stored. all shirts go together, shorts, jeans..etc. if you haven't worn it or it doesn't fit.. get rid of it.
