How to paint - need a help right from the scrach?
Question:I would like to pain my babies room, I have no idea about painting.

First make sure you have all the supplies you need. Paint (wall paint, possibly primer and any other door or edge paint you may want to use), brushes or roller, drop cloths, painters tape, scraper, spackle, small ladder or step stool. Take everything off of the walls and move what items you can out of the room. Move the rest of the furniture to the center of the room and cover with a drop cloth. If the wall is really dirty or has any greasy stains (lipstick, crayon) clean the wall. Fill any nail holes with spackle and smooth with scraper. When the wall is dry, you can start putting the painters tape on the edges of any surfaces you don't want to paint (window sills, doorways, base boards). Now start painting. If the current wall color is dark or the room hasn't been painted in a long time, or the current paint is not a flat paint, first use a primer. Start in the area closest to the door (either left or right). Paint from top to bottom so you can take care of any drips right away. If you get any drips on something other than the wall or the drop cloth, wipe up immediately with a damp cloth. Then just paint, paint, paint. Good luck.
pick up the roller and roll it on the wall. Do 2 or 3 coats and your done.
Cover your flooring with drop clothes, tape off any woodwork you don't want to get paint on with either painters tape or masking tape, use a roller for large areas and a brush for the areas near woodworking, do the brush work first.
preparation is the key, you really need to sand the walls and fill any holes or cracks. once the walls are smooth then you will get the best finish with a roller, apply 2-3 thin coats. to cut in around windows/doors use a brush. if possible buy good quality paint and rollers you really will get a better finish.
