What degree is best for a contractor?


Question:i know u dont have to have a degree to be a contractor but i am going to school for phiscs/civil engineering is that a good choice??

I would say that Building Construction or Construction Management will be a better choice for your background and experience and there will be a lot more money in it for you.

It will scare most of your residential customers away. But, the commercial side might appreciate the expertise implied.
great choice! This way, you can get licensed for more than just a General Contractor.
I have a mechanical engineering degree and have worked as a contractor / estimator / project manager for 25 years. Those are great choices and will get to far ahead but some field experience will help you too. I work as a laborer and carpenter and sheet metal worker the summers while I was going to school.
