Bathroom project (pictures included)?
Question:Ok, the past two weeks, i have been re-painting my bathroom. Before it was a deep dark blue, and it was really dark. I painted it light pink with hot pink stripes, and i think that it looks absolutely adorable. The problem is, the door, cabinets, and trim don't match the paint at all. And the door has two gaping holes in it from where towel hangers used to be. I would love to paint it, or stain it, but I have no idea what color. I cannot get a new door because it would not match the outside of my bathroom. The door is about a shade or two lighter than the trim and cabinets. I need help finding a color to either paint or stain the wood.

Prime and paint all the wood trim, cabinets and doors a bright white. You won't have to paint the outside of the door. Patch the holes in the door with wood putty, and sand before painting.
White! It seems like such a simple answer but it would look the best. If you paint the door, trim, and cabinet white then they will look brand new! As a matter of fact, that is what pretty much all newly constructed homes get as the trim color. White paint is easy find. I personally recommend my clients use bone white from Sherwin Williams to update their homes all the time. Its premixed and inexpensive too.
BTW - what a cute paint job!
love the paint job! I agree... paint the cabinets & door & trim/molding. U can patch the door w/ PAINTABLE PUTTY & prime the door lst w/ either Kilz or Bin or Zinseer then paint over it in white or if u want a lime green or soft green like sage or mint green.
Great job! so what color r u plate switches & plate plugs? white... or r u planning of painting them to match the stripes. U could paint them whatever u paint the door/trim & cabinets.
Have fun! U can do it..
I vote for a glossy white finish on the cabinets. While I really like your wood trim, it looks reddish-orange against your walls and floor. However, the terracotta floor will not clash with the pink walls so much when the conflicting color of the wood is neutralized.
Use Kilz on the woodwork before painting, and use a glossy bright white paint.
Then I would bring in some complementary colors for the accessories... maybe some celery green.
Totaly agree. It needs to be a very clean white. It will prevent the floor from clashing with the pink and it will make the room lighter. If you paint it in enamel it will be hard wearing, glossy and easy to clean.
The room looks really cute. I would suggest Benjamin Moore's White Dove in a semi-gloss.
