Read details please. Any tips for decorating?
Question:Im a 21 yo college student about to move into my first house with my best friend. I need some decorating tips. I like modern stuff. I'm doing my bathroom in all black & white... and i've already got everything needed for it. So I need some tips for my bedroom bascially. I have plain wood furniture (a desk, dresser, shelves, bed, nightstand) and a white down comforter and pillowcases... so it's very bland. I wanted to bring bright pink somehow into my room. I love the color pink... but I dont think bright pink walls would be very welcoming... lol. any ideas? i really need some help!
i dont really a lot of clutter... so i dont want to cover the walls in paintings.
and of course. im on a budget...

ooOOo how i love the color pink too! umm what i would do is keep your comforter and buy some pink pillows to sit on top of your bed, maybe add some pink sheets and kind of fold them a little back when making up your bed so they stand out then just have your white pillows with your comforter and add the small pink ones on top ** if you won't to add more pink you could take pink buttons and every so many inches like on couchs but a button and there is your bed.
as for your furniture...be creative i have a friend who got some one in her art class to draw designs on her furniture. and there you go with that.
your desk area...i usually spice mine up with some pictures of friends around so at least when i am studying and daydream i can see my friends...then i have a bullentin board above that.
Pictures Pictures Pictures are something that makes every room good. IT BRINGS BACK MEMORIES! Just have funn with your room but what you like in it.
Try finding a nice boarder with nice design with bright pink in it. If possible try finding some sheets to go with the boarder. You may also consider finding another contrast color. If you od decide on a boarder, you may want to use a color in that boarder. For example, if your boarder has pink, beige and blue in it, you may want to use the blue, or a softer pink. I hope this helps.
Try maybe some bright accents, a pillow or two, maybe a blanket across the foot of the bed, or a rug. Or paint just the door, and electrical outlets in your accent colour. You could maybe get one pink chair, or picture frames on the desk. The other idea is a mural. Paint a border of pink roses across the top of the wall, or some casual accents sponged on a wall.
Try stenciling a few pink roses on the walls. Near your lighting would be most effective. A pink potted flowers would be a nice accent. On your night stand use a pink light bulb to create the rose colored look.
you can cover your comforter with a duvet cover in pink most people dont realise that comforters can be covered as they are the same size as duvets... also curtains and other accesories like throw blankets are good as well... if you want to paint the walls and want to make a nice look with pink try a pale green or even a baby blue they will go well with pink its just a matter of what colors you enjoy... I would suggest green because its fairly neutral and easy to live with... and it looks great with pink... and paint is cheap and if you dont want to spend alot you can always paint only one wall as an accent wall... good luck with what ever you choose
