Quick dry matt paint?
Question:can anyone point me in the direction of a paint that dries virtually within a few minutes?
Answers:
Matt paint always dries quickly - to the touch anyway, but I wouldn't apply another coat for a while.
yeah matt paint dries quite quick but i think that you should wait b4 u add the second coat
If you cant wait a half hour, Most Paint stores sell a chemical call Japan drier they can add to paint to make it dry quickly, but i recommend wait half an hour and apply another coat...
"Matte" or flat paints dry fairly quickly, approx. an hour or less to touch. You should wait at least 3-4 hrs. to re-coat. Need more detail (latex or oil; inside or out), so making assumptions.
If you are inside using latex, you can run a fan in the room to help with air circulation and keep the humidity down as the water (solvent) needs to evaporate to dry. If outside, I wouldn't let the paint dry too quickly as this will affect the bond you get to the surface, i.e. painting in direct sunlight causes paint to flash dry without proper adhesion (think peeling and having to do it again fairly soon) and creates overlap marks which will look terrible. DON"T use Japan Drier, it is for oil based paints and reduces flexibility in the paint film (OK if you are painting metal equipment in a factory setting, even then I would use a quick dry enamel-xylene based rather than mineral spirit based). Come on, painter!
quick drying paint that ive used took over an hour to dry
