What's a good way to advertise interior design services on a budget?

Answers:
Put up a great web site with valuable content.
Start an interior design blog.
Offer to donate a certificate good for a three hour consultation to a local charitable group that is holding a raffle or silent auction.
Try to target groups where both volunteers and bidders fit your target market.
School parent groups are especially good.
I was first asked to do this by a client who was on the committee at her children's school.
I do this with a number of charities and most of the donations turn into profitable jobs.
I would say of the ones I send out about 70% call me and 70% of the callers hire me after the consultation. 30% I never hear from at all.
For those who don't hire me I figure I'm still making a contribution to the charity. So it's a win-win.
Visit local showrooms (carpet, cabinetry, etc.) and ask to display your business cards.
I'd throw something out there on Craigslist. If your city has a NickelAds or one of those free papers, those are good too. They cost, but not as much as the regular city paper.
I did it on craigslist.org and its free and usually they just want to see pictures of your work so make sure you have that avaliable... and I got lots of leeds the only annoying part is that you have to re list the add every couple of days to get new hits...
try http://www.npsari.com
You can post your ad there easily
and you will get many responses
Hope it helps you
