Which patio roof type is more expensive?

Question:I have a deck and connecting patio in my backyard. I so badly want a patio cover or screened-in deck with a ceiling fan. However, I am on a tight budget. Are vinyl patio covers more expensive than the standard roof type (the roof that matches the house's roof)? Will adding screen make a huge difference in price?

In the long run, using materials that match the house will probably cost more and look better, however, any other option would not last as long. Yes screens will add to the cost, but work with a LOCAL trustworthy contractor who understands exactly what you want and at what price, he/she may even be able to give better input and offer better options as well. NOTE: Get everything in writing! good luck. by the way, I live outside Chicago.
