What color should i paint my cabinets?
Question:Well right now i have wood cabinets with cream/vanilla color counter tops but i want to paint the drawers’ and what not from the stained wood look to a color? Any ideas on a color, i was thinking white but with the counter top being a cream/vanilla color i was not sure if white would be good?
Answers:
Soft yellow.
Camoflauge (no, seriously.) Good luck. Did i answer your question? If so best answer me!
lime green
Black
Stain them.
That sounds nice. go for it.
pink and neon green polka dots =]
Depends on the floor color too --- what about the walls? 3 colors go into a room usually .. primary, secondary and accent.
navy blue
id paint them neon green with black and pink poka dots! eukk!! lol umm id pick sumthing that blends in with the colors in te room unless u plan on changing its color sum time soon.
I would pick a birght color to contrast with the cream counter tops. Maybe a navy blue or bright red, depends on your taste.
Navy blue
warm brown (light brown) or dark beige
do it an earth tone like green or brown
but if you dont like that
try a red
not a bright red but like a brownish red
Um... Black? Or a wood looking color..
That might be a lot of white, but I love white cabinets personally. Then you could accessorize with other colours.
light green it will set the mood
paint it a thick color cream a noticable cream nice and light yellow
umm well it depends wat color is your wall? if you want it to match your wall to make it pretty make it a color close to it or the exact oposet of the color like if your walls are white paint your cabinet black if they are black paint the cabinet white get it? :)
Look into "antiqued" style. It's a little harder to do, especially if you have mitered panel doors, but looks super-cool if done right.
If the decision is to paint, white would have the best resale and make the kitchen the brightest. Can't go wrong with white since many new cabinets are sold that way.
Red is a very "in" color for cabinets right now and they actually look very good. Paint the cabinets the same color as your counter tops and the doors and drawers a nice shade of red. Add a couple of red canisters, etc to sit on the counters and it will be beautiful.
Well, one thing you should ask yourself is: do you want the room to match other rooms in the house? If so, go with a similar color. Say the main color in your living room is a burgundy. Go with a similar color for the cabinets, or a blue or green near the same intensity as burgundy is.
In the end, it's all a matter of personal preference, and it will be your decision. Just think twice about cream on white. They are very similar in color and could possibly clash.
It depends on what type/color floors you have. If they are also cream, or wood, you can use just about any color you want.
My cabinets are sage green, my walls are a soft yellow, my floors are red and cream checkerboard tile, and the counter tops are cream.
you can never go wrong if you keep to white. but big contrast to finished wood frame work. have you considered coating entire cabinet? go thru proper steps an i'll bet your happy
You could do white, but you may find that your cream/vanilla will look like white that has yellowed and that won't make you happy.
I'd rather have more info to suggest a color, but on the basis of what you gave me, I'd suggest a tobacco color or a really nice cranberry red... but it all depends on the rest of your decor. If you email me with more info, I'll be more than happy to help.
Here is a link to paint colors that is (in my humble opinion) the best on the web...
