How do I eliminate the smell of paint in my newly painted room?

Question:I just finished painting my room. Now I can't stand the smell of, I guess, the thinner or the paint itself. I am having headache and I felt a little pain in my lungs. Somebody help me.

Answers:
There are odor absorbing pack that can be bought for just that purpose. Just open them up and they will help take the smell out, but it is not and instantaneous solution, it takes a few days. It helps to put fans in the windows to draw the air out and bring fresh air in.

Look time is the only thing that will cure this problem, if you can put a fan and let it circulate the air around. Let the room air out thats all you can do.
bucket of water, and a cut lemon
Patience Grasshopper! Actually if you read the label it says keep area well ventilated. Open the windows and turn on the fan.
I heard if you cut an onion and place it in a bowl of water in the room, it'll get rid of the smell overnight.

Next time put some vanilla extract in the paint. It cuts the smell.
Yeah. Most of these folks are right. The paint is outgassing and there ain't thing one you can do about it except wait. Ventilate the room and wait a couple weeks. You should probably see a doctor in the mean time.might be serious
put a large bowl of vinegar in the room, next time use a tsp.of vanilla to each gallon of paint...
Open a window and turn on a fan. Close the door to the room and just allow the fan to blow all that paint smelling air out the window. Go sleep on the sofa.
Pour Vanilla Extract on a few pieces of bread and place the bread on several dishes, place the dishes around the room and open the windows (opening the windows just helps the air in your room to circulate helping the odor to leave sooner) The vanilla smells nice and the bread absorbs the odor (yes it does work, just give it a couple of days if the smell is real strong) Good Luck
