Will it look stupid to have 2 loveseats and a sofa in my living room?

Question:The living room set I like does not come with a recliner or chair, and I'd really like at least 6 seats. I'm either thinking about 2 loveseats and a sofa or 2 sofas and a loveseat. I haven't seen any living room or pictures with either of these arrangements, so I thought I'd ask around to get some opinions.

Answers:
No, it will not look stupid. You need to have a pretty large room though. I would use the two love seats with the sofa rather than the two sofas and loveseat. Measure your area and if you need to visually see the placement, cut some paper or cardboard to size. Or, even masking tape.

And, your chairs do not have to match the sofa. Can you pick out chairs to coordinate with the sofa? The arm style doesn't even have to match. For instance, an English arm sofa will blend with a roll arm chair. Just keep your pieces in similar style. If you have a solid sofa, you could use print chairs. If you have a fabric sofa, you could use leather recliners, etc. Look through some magazines or, you could even check out some sites like: www.corbis photography or
www.istockphoto. Search interior design or living rooms. They have 1000's of photos.

You would better off investing in a sectional. My friend had 2 sofa's in her Den it looked really crazy.
depending on how spacious your room is, the 2 loveseat layout could work. Or you could also try selecting a chair that is an accent piece (so it won't match your couches exactly, but will coordinate with them). We have two tan microsuede couches, and then a super cute striped chair from Pier 1.com in our living room. They work very well together.
As long a the love seats are esthetically correct I think it would be fine. I've got a Rattan sectional that took care of the same problem. It came with 7 pieces, 1 corner (6'), 2 ends (one 4' section and 1 5' section), 2 armless sections (3' ea.) and a hassock with casters. which I topped with a piece of 3/8" safety glass and use for a coffee table. It has many, many arrangements to fit almost any type of space. I hope this helps. (it also sits considerably more that six people and can be shoved together like a giant playpen for ?!! :O] )
Just because things are sold as a set, doesn't mean you have to buy them; it's just what the store is hoping for. Why don't you look into getting two chairs instead of a loveseat. They are more versatile and easier to move around in a room. It doesn't have to be a part of the set. Just look for something that complements your sofa and loveseat.
If your livingroom is big enough for 2 loveseats, I say go for it.. lol. As long as it all matches nice, and you are happy with it. Home decorating is something that is very individual. It has to meet your needs, not the needs of anyone else. So I say do what makes you feel good about your home.
i dotn think any thing would loook stupid. i have 2 love seats and a chair becuase i couldnt get the sofa in the house. so now i have 2 love seats and no sofa and it looks fine..
as long as you have enough room i think it would like nice.!
hope that helps.
&&
good luck
