How do I replace and install chain link fence?

Question:Replacing existing 4' high chain link fence with 5' high. Using same posts and adding extensions to them. Using same top rail. The question is can I stretch it enough by hand or do I need one of those stretcher bars and come alongs or something? Length is 140' straight line. I think I could probably stretch it enough by hand (with a helper) but would like your opinion.

Answers:
My husband and myself just did this ourselves and it is very cumbersome to try and man handle a chain link fence. Mostly because when you pull it as tight as you can it is still probably not going to be tight enough. Plus, it will take both of you to hold it in place so you will need a third person to connect it to the posts on the ends or corners.

Use a come along.the fence will look better and be tighter and you'll save some energy as well. I've used the trailer hitch on a pickup truck before.
Best to use a fence stretcher, you can't pull it tight enough by hand to keep it from sagging.
