I need decorating advice: How can i decorate my room?

Question:I recently recorated my room and i like it. but i want to make it more exciting! What are ssome things i can add or do to my room? My room has tan walls and has pink bedsheets. What do you think i could do?

Answers:
A bedroom should be inviting and represent who you are.
What are things that you like? What do you collect? etc.
We need more information to better help you decorate the room.
Your bed does need pillows, tan and pink to bring the colors together.
Floor plants and plants to put on the dresser a must.
A peace lily with a fish in it always adds to the room.
If you are a teen:
A wall with pictures of your friends and a bulletin board.
The frames need to have pink and tan in them. You can always spray paint or sponge paint the frames. You can also super glue things on them...(flowers, school memorabilia, etc.
Along with the pictures have a shelf. On the shelf put things that tell about your personality or favorite items.
Go to Wal- Mart and buy a bean bag chair and a floor lamp for different lighting. Next to the bean bag, get an old crate or table of some kind that isn't being used anymore. Paint it tan and then shellac it. Have permanent markers in a container and have you and your friends write favorite sayings, song lyrics, etc. this can be great fun.
If you are an adult:
pictures of family
If I were you, I would marblize one of the walls. Get two shades of tan, one exactly the color that is on the wall, one a little lighter, and then white. Put all the colors on a paper plate. Take a sponge or aluminum foil and crumple it up in a ball. Dab it in each color, just a little and then start dabbing it on the wall. It gives the wall a nice texture..makes it look marblized. If you don't like it, you can wipe it off right away without any trouble.
Wish I knew more about you...I am very good at decoratiing and could really help you out if I knew your age and things that you liked.

Add some pink flowers, some pink window shams, pink throw rugs and some tan pillow throws
Paint one wall, focal point, a rich chocolate brown!
Add some wall deals to spice the entire place. Some nice ones can be found here:

Create cozy corners with throw rugs, cushions & rugs.
adding an accent color is always an option.. putting a thow blanket at the foot of the bed in a contrasting color can make a big visual impact if you have other colors in the room you might be able to find color inspirations there I would suggest a soft pale green its a big contrast but can go very well if you want something more subtle use a different color... another idea try making a faux wall panel with paint... the link is to a picture of what a wall panel is

i know it looks a bit formal but if you make the same shape on the wall with paint lets say white paint... it looks really funky and interesting... keep an open mind and if you want drawing it on a piece of paper to see the effect it can be very good... or if you want something easier to do try white stripes ...
tan walls and pink sheets dont go together and is so blah. Try red sheets or another color that pops . Try some art on the walls that will introduce the wall color and sheets. You can also try some pillows on your bed. Maybe adding tet another color into the room. Color always works. As long as all the colors are captured in the art work Have fun with it. Try to avoid dull colors such as pink or white.

How fun!
Tan and pink is really pretty and soft together.

Making the wall where the head of your bed goes as the focal point is a really good place to start.
I've seen people do wainscoating on the wall and do it pretty high up, nearly to the top of the wall (about 2 feet down from the ceiling) and then do a shelf along the top of the wainscoating, and only on that one accent wall above your bed.
On the shelf they put a collection of something they like.
Then using big wood letters you can paint them and spell out your name and put it on the wainscoating above your bed. Do those in pink and brown or whatever.
Do the wainscoating in a different color from the other walls. Maybe in a light pink or a cream color, and then paint above the wainscoating in either a darker tan or a brown or just the same tan color as the other walls.

A fun lamp that you can put several different light bulbs in it is cool. Use different colored lightbulbs.

A big "bean bag" or Luv Sac is totaly cool. NOt the biggest one! of course, but just a smaller one for one person to use. Get it shaggy for some different texture and either go wild with black and white zebra stripes or do a darker shade of pink or tan, the closest to the same color as the walls as you can get.

A big throw rug really "grounds" everything. Try getting a pink rug that has designs or whatever to match your style.

Fun drapes are so cool right now. You can get looong drapes that pool onto the floor and wrap them around a pretty and fancy curtain rod (do pink sheer, perhaps, for this, or a shiny pink material) or do a window shade panel that only goes on the top part of the window and do it in alternating colors of darker tan and pink and maybe stripes, solids, polka dots, flowers, and whatever.

Lots of big pillows of different shapes, sizes, colors and textures always adds a huge interesting and comfort and variety to a bedroom, especially to a girl's bedroom. Try them in different matching shades of tan, brown, pinks, creams, and so on. If you get the zebra Luv Sac or whatever, then try getting a couple of pillows that match that, maybe a couple of black ones and one zebra pillow.

Anyway, that's just totally a start!
I could go on and on!

Have fun!!
