Explain Feng Shui-what is it basically?

Question:I searched on some sites and still dnt really understand what feng shui is or ''bagua" and stuff.

Answers:
fengshui is knowing where is the good or bad energy, and using these to your advantage or to make life easier. this is usually done by using a formula or a concept. most of these concepts can be taught by a fengshui professional/ master in a seminar. it is not as simple as putting a mirror in an area, and you'll get rich.

for example, ms. lillian too wrote several books regarding ba zhai or 8 mansions concept. this concept is about using your birthdate to calculate your kua. based on your kua, you can say either you are a west person or an east person. if you're east, then north, south, east and southeast are good locations for you, while the rest are bad. and vice versa for the west. of the 4 good directions there is a best direction, while of the 4 bad, there is the worst direction that you should always avoid. on all her books, she didn't actually teach the actual function of this concept - that the kitchen or toilet can be used to draw in wealth.

fengshui concepts vary from one another. it would seem that different fengshui auditors are using different concepts, but the truth is that they are all using the same, but they tell their clients a different story to mislead them - thus their tricks of the trade remain a secret. why would you hire them, if you already know how to do it yourself? if you browse through websites of fengshui masters, you will see that they offer similar courses.

all of these conepts came from the concept of chi, where the concepts of yin and yang can be derived. then from yin and yang came the 8 trigrams (a trigram is a diagram composing of 3 rows of line [yang] or broken line [yin]). using the 8 trigrams you can make the early heaven bagua and the later heaven bagua. a trigram is a gua. ba is 8 in chinese. thus, bagua simply mean 8 trigrams.

the 8 trigrams arranged in either early heaven or later heaven bagua, which you usually can buy at a chinese store. the only difference between the early heaven and later heaven is the arrangement of the trigrams around the circle. the bagua is a powerful tool that should never be used inside the house. it is usually placed outside the house, whenever the opposite has a sha (bad) chi.

the mirror at the center of the bagua has these functions:
- a plain mirror reflects good and bad energy/ chi, this is the most common
- a convex mirror bounces all chi coming in
- a concave mirror absorbs and concentrates the chi

the placement of belongings so that they flow evenly with life. Its all about creating a good ora:)
it is aura not ora
Sound to me like a marketing ploy!
It is the philosophy, I think part of Zen, that states there are reactions to the way the objects in your life are ordered. there are many sham artists now, but it is supposed to help you flow through the physical realm easier, thus allowing you to concentrate more freely on the spiritual realm. It is said to bring calm.
