Room Themes?
Question:i just recently painted my room with 2 walls a bright blue (the color you usually see with rubber ducks) and 2 walls light blue. I love it, and am going to keep it. What are some possible themes i could have for my room (i am a 14 year old girl) that has blue in the color scheme somewhere and i also want to add some kind of focal point on one of the walls to go along with the theme. Any ideas?

For your focal point find a poster of a major work of art.[ Van Gogh, Monet, and others ]. Frame it yourself with an inexpensive frame from a crafts store.
You can then pull your theme from the painting using the colors of the painting and theme of the painting [ sunflowers, Iris',water Lilly's or just flowers ]

Go with a Hawaiian Tropic theme. Then you can keep the blues and interject greens too. Find a bedspread that is an Hawaiian theme and then decorate from there. Hawaiian themed lamps, pictures...the possibilities are endless.
insted of underwater theme if you think its too childish then why dont you do like a tropical theme. or like beachy vacation. just an ideaa. hope it helped.
retro sounds good. But I like ocean themes. Maybe Ocean and beach. That way you can add coral colors. Do you have a Pier One store there? They have all kinds of Wicker and Outdoorsy theme suff. I used to have a Fish net on a wall and I put pictures and things in it. I am into Sail boats as a theme so the room went together nicely with the blue furnature.
reto is kewl. u can add chrome/silver/ greens/ oranges/ yellows... So i may i add to u'r GREAT design. when u decide on what 3rd color u want... either u can do it on ALL u'r walls or JST u'r focal wall... paint several small stripes... or circles in a row of diff sizes... of squares overlapping... or waves...
if u go retro.. find old LP's (try thrift stores etc) & velcro or foam stick them to the wall then in the middle put dowel sticks so u can hang clothes or other RETRO things.
U can put cubes on u'r wall for shelves ( put up w/ "L" brackets & paint them the wall color & paint the cubes the 3rd color
