What kind of wood?
Question:How can I tell what kind of wood my coffee table is? I got it from ikea or something and its cherry color and quite heavy but not sure what wood it is.thx much

IKEA uses a lot of teak wood, but it could be anything that is stained the cherry finish you describe.
furniture from Ikea is most likely particle board with laminate finish look at unexposed areas and look for wood grain will not be present in particle board
