How can I find a good contractor in New Jersey (Edison area) to do my kitchen and bathroom remodelling?
Question:Where can I find them besides the yellow book? Is home depot and lowes a good option?
Answers:
You should ask your friends this question, your neighbors too. It's best to get the names of contractors and handymen from people who have actually used their services and can recommend them because they are fast, clean, reliable, reasonably priced and not looking to take your money and run. I've hired through the Home Depot and I'm still disgusted when I look at my kitchen floor. They took too long, were late everyday, charged me more than originally discussed, didn't do the job the way I wanted it done, and I was somewhat intimidated to tell him because I was pregnant, alone everyday and very petite.both guys looked like they'd never seen a shower, and one of them was a complete hot head and I had already let him into my home...he looked like a convict. I let them work, and I kept my distance and paid them what they asked for and when they left, I changed my locks. I heard about a month later about a great contractor in my area that was a fraction of the price. Good luck and don't forget to check whomever you hire with the BBB.
They would know of the local workers in your area. But hey, did you every think of doing it yourself. Its alot of work, but you save money, and you can show off your work to friends. Good luck.
Whenever I need a reliable Contractor I stop in at Edison Mill Work, it's on the corner of Old Post Rd. & Woodbridge Ave and ask for a reccomendation.
