Ideas for decorating a plain white lamp shade?

Question:My decor is cabin-lodge style. It is a swag lamp with a plain white fabric over plastic shade.

Thanks for any ideas given!

Answers:
I like to make collages out of photos or maps or labels that follow my color scheme.
Just brush some watered down Elmer's (or similar) glue on the back of the pix and place on the shade, then paint over them with crystal clear satin finish polyurethane.
You could also paint the shade with a color you like first and before the paint dries, stick the pix on. The paint works like glue and when it dries, put the clear poly on it.

Poke holes in an interesting pattern through the plastic.
I have what we call a "deer room" Hunting stuff etc.
I cut out some pictures of deer and put them on black consttruction paper, cut those out and pasted them on the inside of a lamp shade. When the lamp is on you can see the outline of the deer. You may be able to just use the pictures of the deer, but then the light might shine through the pictures. Try it and see. I also did another lampshade by gluing fish hooks on a lamp shade with a big decal of a fish on it. You could put a decal or picture of a cabin; pine tree. whatever? Hope this helps
