Tips on filling/preventing scratches in wood furniture??

Question:We recently bought a bedroom set that has a really dark finish but I've been finding some light scratches mostly from my cat jumping off the foot of the bed. I'm not declawing him I'm just wondering if there's a product out there that had worked best for anyone or if there's something I can do to the furniture to prevent them from showing so much.

Answers:
I have a similar problem with dog claw on hardwood floors and wood furniture legs. I use a product called Howard's restore a finish. It is an easy to apply wipe on liquid that comes in clear or colors to match your wood tones. It works to obsure scratches and other imperfections on wood. You can find it in the Home Depot on the paint/stain aisle. And one bottle lasts for years.

Hi, you can get a number of scratch cover products in the Paint Dept . of your local Hardware Store. I get crayons and use them. If they don't go on smoothly, hold a match under them for a second or two. Then top it off with Johnson's Paste Wax. Bye
