Many cooks hang their pots. Use a rack or chain, and hooks. I also bought a towel rod and use it, with S-hooks, for my pans and skillets.
I went to the local discount store and bought racks especially made for cabinets so they allow me to use more of my space by going up and they click together. I have almost doubled my space.
