Fireplace makeover?

Question:just had my fireplace sandblasted, which is made from cut and smooth brick. would like to treat it with something to seal the brick from turning black and a high gloss shine for appearance and cleaning purposes, what would you suggest?

I do believe that you are far past the time to place a finish like that in the fire box. Heat is the factor.
