Do floors look good under the carpet in a mobile home?

Question:My carpet is messed up badly. I was wondering if the wood under it looks good if you stain it or something? I don't like the carpet. I have a mobile home (trailer).

Answers:
Not unless you're a big fan of plywood...

nope
No it does not..

BUT laminate flooring would look good over the top of the subfloor. Fairly easy to install and fairly inexpensive.

Good Luck

Dave
no they are generally particle chip board. you can put down a "pergo" flooring over it to look like hard wood flooring.
I find it looks very good until you put the carpet on top of it - this really ruins the appearence as you can't actually see it anymore .
I'm not sure I understand your question so I will give you several answers.
The wood under the carpet will be unsuitable.
Wood floors look good anywhere, but are expensive..
There are linoleum flooring that looks likes wood.
I agree with everyone except the guy who said you would get your money back if you sold IF you put in oak floors or granite countertops. In a mobile home, you would never be able to recoup those costs. Stick with an inexpensive laminate. Lowes has it as cheap as 97 cents a sq. foot and it is easy to install yourself.
