Things to put into a teen hangout room??
Question:I'm converting my basement into a place to kick it with my friends. It's pretty big- though the ceiling is low- so space isn't an issue.
I'm already putting in a sofa with a pull out bed but what else should I put in there? a tv? refrigerator? .I'm out of ideas!!

sooo what would u & u'r friends being doing other than hanging out & chatting? Eating? Playing video games? Playing board games? Playing tunes? where will u sit? where will u put u'r cups & plates? u'r games... u'r dvd's... u'r cd's..etc..etc..etc.
U know what... ask u'r friends! they will b sharing the room w/ u & get them involved in painting it, making clearance material pillow covers/cushions/ .paintin furniture from garage sales/thrift stores etc...
Mayb u all can thing of a theme... other than "HANGOUT " room & then paint everyone on one wall & get a blown up pic of their face & put it where the face would go. OR u'r favorite Band,,,singers... actor etc...
Stripes. waves. squares... circles... flowers.

Well, maybe you could put in a tv and a video game (if u have one) maybe you can put in a couple of beanbags or comfortable chairs, and maybe even a make-up table if you would like. Anything else that you or your friends would like to do would be cool, like a make-up table, a pool table, a video game, etc. Maybe you could even invite some friends over and you can paint the wall together, if its already paited maybe you can paint a design on there like clouds or something.
Okay youll need a tv. . . .and a gaming console!! like an xbox or whatever.
And a stereo with lots of CDs
Oh and definitely a fridge. . . . .but then youll need to worry about keeping it stocked so. . .
A TV, a fridge, maybe add a big rug in the floor and use it as a dance floor. You can put a disco ball. Then how about a little place to eat? Maybe a love sac. Have fun!
A "Theme Room" is very COOL! A friend of mine made a 1950's era soda room in his basement for his daughter & friends. It has a Big Screen TV with game system black & white checkerboard tiles on the floor, Coke machine, snack vendor, tall tables and stools, paper napkin and straw holders at each table. Well it looks like a picture of a soda shop in the 50's!
