Any air freshning ideas?
Question:Like... put a dryer sheet in your air vents etc.
Answers:
If the air is in need of refreshing than you really need to find the source which is keeping it from smelling fresh. After a good cleaning with a good soap and hot water and the carpets have been cleaned, and it still smells funky. Then check out the refrigerator for hidden spoiled veg.eggs, dairy products , meat etc.
If it is that you just like a flowery or citrus smelling house or room. Then may I suggest investing in the scented melted wax disc found at Yankee candles store. You'll need a wax burner that you can place a tea light candle under and it will melt the scented wax filling the room with whatever fills your fantasy. From the oceans, to the orchards, to the fresh cotton and linen smells, to the kitchen bake good scents to the exotic scents of the tropical islands.
Dollar stores also have these candle melters so keep your eyes open if you don't already have one.
Dryer sheets don't last long in the air vents and blocks flow of air as well.
Don't use the scented carpet powder it damages the sweeper.
Others have suggested that running a lemon or lime down the disposal freshens it as well which may help.
Keep cardboard boxes out of closets and rooms if at all possible. They tend to develop a musty smell after awhile.
Hang a "mildew remover disc "under the bathroom sinks or kitchen sink, they really work too.
"Frebreze" really works well too for fabric oder removal and car freshener.( It is unscented 7 works instantly.)
Clean the house thoroughly, open the windows, and put cut flowers out. Have people keep stinky shoes and the like in garages or non-used areas.
Also put them between the cushions of your furniture, and any inconspicous area that you can. Sprinkle baking soda on the floor before vacuuming or sweeping.
Make baking soda caches and place around the house to absorb misc odors. Be sure the filters on your HVAC are changed regularly. Keep ceiling fan/box fan blades and casings clean.
Of course there are the common ones: scented candles, Febreze, etc
Mix water and vinegar and spray your furniture and curtains and turn on the fan to dry.Smells clean and fresh.
