Room Color choice??
Question:I'm moving to my new apartment and I was looking for some paint color ideas. I already bought my kitchen table. The table top is a medium brown color and the legs are silver metal. What is a good color to paint the walls so that my table doesn't look out of place. I"m looking for a contempory look.
Thanks.

I agree that a blue would look nice, but nothing TOO bold, that would make the room seem more art deco than contemporary.
more of a teal color like Behr's Embellished blue or River's Edge.
The paint color depends entirely on the mood you want to convey in the room, the size of the room, and the style of the other pieces you are putting in the room. My suggestion for a modern look in a kitchen/dining area with your table would be a red-orange or something similar.
turquoise
I think a nice beige with a splash of metallic overtone to it would be pretty. This can be acheived by using a coat of metallic paint over a bottom coat of eggshell or tan. Stay in the cool shades of beige to keep the room looking fresh and airy. If more color is what you had in mind, a medium blue(french blue etc) with modern accents like going with geometric circles or squares around the room would look retro with a twist. Hope this helps!
It really depends on how you're feeling when you go to the paint store. I'd check out any home improvement store's paint section. Pick out samples of colors you like and bring them home and hang them on the wall with blue painters tape (so they don't stick to the wall). You'll be able to narrow it down that way. Plus, if you decide once you get home that all of the colors are wrong, you can scrap them and start all over without spending a fortune on paint. Once you've narrowed it down to 2-3 colors, ask a friend over for their opinion. If they say a red and you were really hoping for blue, you then know that the blue is what you were really leaning toward.
Happy painting!
How soon will be too soon to repaint? If you go with a bold color, it will likely look very nice, but you always run the risk of tiring of the color. For me, it's no big deal. I like color and I don't really mind painting.
If the prospect of repainting sounds daunting, consider going with a rich warm tan and adding color through accessories and artwork. Adding stainless accessories can certainly add to a contemporary look as can art-glass vases and contemporary paintings (or prints).
You may also want to consider adding an accent color on only one wall. If you go with a warm tan, maybe you can do an accent wall in cobalt or red-orange or mustard. I'd determine the color of my accent wall by choosing a color that will best compliment a favorite piece of art.
What about something like this?

Maybe with a turquoise or burnt orange wall and a great silver frame? The rest of your walls could be something more neutral.
Good luck!
A mauvy pink color will look mdern and nice
pastle colors r best very relaxing
someone said Turquoise, which is a nice look, but very specific to taste. How about some shade of red? There are a lot out there, you don't have to go with fire engine/barn reds...
